Window Installation

When we purchased this house we knew we wanted to keep the traditional aesthetic of the original exterior of the house in tact, but also give a slightly modernized update where we could...enter, new windows.

The original windows were classic wood twelve pane installations. I wanted much more natural light and to bring the outside in, so we took them to the floor and WOW, what a difference it instantly made. It made the rooms so open and BRIGHT!

We first considered doing steel windows as the profile around the edge is much thinner and the look super sleek, but they are not as functional as far as insulation, can rust, and are much, much more expensive than alternatives, so we went with Marvin Integrity and are thrilled with how they turned out!

The upstairs landing sunroom...it is a completely different space now don't you think?

And, the one I was most excited for....THE KITCHEN! I might have squealed when I walked in and saw this had been installed. Below shows the space with the back staircase, middle wall and bathroom completely removed.

Having the windows installed was one of the major milestones we were eagerly awaiting and it has been even more fun than we anticipated to actually see them installed. Can't wait until we are moved in and actually cooking in the kitchen!
